Within weeks word spread \u2013 a little-known mathematician, with no permanent job, working in complete isolation had made an important breakthrough towards solving the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Twin_prime#Twin_prime_conjecture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twin Prime Conjecture<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yitang_Zhang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yitang Zhang<\/a>&#8216;s techniques for bounding the gaps between primes soon led to rapid progress by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polymath_Project\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Polymath Group<\/a>, and a further innovation by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Maynard_(mathematician)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Maynard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The film is a study of Zhang&#8217;s rise from obscurity and a disadvantaged youth to mathematical celebrity.
