The Royal Institution<\/a> was founded to introduce new technologies and teach science to the general public through lectures and demonstrations. Humphry Davy<\/a>, one of the first Professors<\/a>, established scientific research as a crucial part of the Ri’s identity, something never envisaged by the founders of the institution.<\/p>\n

Over the last two centuries our building and labs have been home to famous scientists, such as Michael Faraday<\/a>, who made discoveries here which have helped shape the modern world.<\/p>\n

The Ri has been bringing science to the masses for over 200 years from our building in London, and since 2009 on our YouTube channel<\/a>. We love what we do and we want to be doing more of it.
