The story of Alan Turing, credited by many as the father of the modern digital computer. The programme highlights the importance of Turing\u2019s early interest in logic and mathematics, as well as his later work during the Second World War at Bletchley Park<\/a> where he was involved in breaking the code used by the German Enigma<\/a> encryption machines. Also covers Turing\u2019s later interest in the processes underlying how the mind works. Deals with Turing\u2019s homosexuality, his prosecution in 1952 for gross indecency, and his ultimate suicide in 1954.<\/p>\n
